Frequently Asked Questions
We're dedicated to bringing the authentic taste of Philadelphia cheesesteaks to Idaho.. It's what we do. Here, we answer some of the most common questions our customers have asked.
Do you have a Brick & Mortar?
We would love to open a storefront however, as prices continue to rise throughout our country, operating a brick & mortar isn't feasible for us at this time.
We remain focused on online orders and delivery from our commercial kitchen. We are actively exploring options for a permanent spot. We are also open to other food businesses with kitchens who wish to have "Cheesesteak Happy Hours," or "Cheesesteak Nights."
Do you operate a food truck?
Not at the moment. Please visit our Facebook page regularly for updated information about our future plans, menu updates and more.
Is there a minimum order amount?
yes, there is a $30 minimum order amount.
What is the difference between a junior and a large cheesesteak?
Our junior cheesesteaks offer a perfectly portioned taste of our classic flavors. Our Junior cheesesteaks average about a pound or so and our large cheesesteaks are generously averaging 1.70+ lbs. and packed with even more juicy ribeye or tender chicken, perfect for a very hearty appetite!
What type of roll do you use?
Over the years we have said that The Cheesesteak Guy® does not try to emulate a “Philly Cheesesteak” we certainly produce a sandwich we are proud to call a Cheesesteak based upon our owners 74 year old recipe given to him by an old-time Philly cheesesteak maker named Mario S back in 1981.
One area, and there are plenty, we don’t skimp on is the roll. We've proudly served our one-of-a-kind Cheesesteaks on rolls from Philadelphia's Amoroso Baking Company since our beginning. They are not a cheap roll. Actually quite expensive with 5 price increases since June 2025. Proudly, not once have we upped the price of our rolls.
You’ll see "cheesesteaks" on menus around the treasure valley. There are those who use ground beef and call it a cheesesteak. Others use roast beef and call it a cheesesteak. The Cheesesteak Guy® uses Ribeye steak exclusively . . . and call it a True Cheesesteak.
We have yet to find a true cheesesteak in the treasure valley. For their own reasons, they refuse to use the original cheesesteak roll. We have found the Amoroso rolls superior to other rolls.
You can get a “sub roll” for much cheaper in the valley which they take advantage of.
At one point we did consider other rolls available in the valley but we believe we did the right thing by staying loyal to the Philadelphia Amoroso brand. The Cheesesteak Guy Is Street Food Elevated.

What are your best-selling cheesesteaks?
Popularity changes quite often, however, our most popular cheesesteaks in 2026 are the Mushroom Steak, South Philly Whiz, Classic Philly, our Open Stuffed Cheesesteak both ribeye and chicken breast, Buffalo Chicken, and our huge cheesesteak sliders.
Are their toppings you won't add on the cheesesteaks?
Great question! We've been asked to put tomatoes, lettuce, black olives, spinach, and a few other items on our cheesesteaks. If we added these things to our cheesesteaks they would no longer be true cheesesteaks! We stick to authentic cheesesteak ingredients.
How are your sauces made?
Our delicious sauces are the result of years of "on-the-job training" for The Cheesesteak Guy's owner while he lived in Roxborough which is a Philadelphia suburb.
The owner inherited the recipes from his mentor, Mario, who got them from his father back in the early 1950s. We create our sauces/spreads in-house, fresh for every order.
What are some of your ingredients?
We use high-quality ingredients like Sweet Red Bells, Caramelized Onions, Mushrooms, REAL Cheez Whiz, Sharp White Cheddar, Jalapeño Cheese, Boar's Head® Provolone, Smoked Provolone, Boar's Head® White American, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Jalapeño/Habanero Cheese, Caramelized Sweet Onions, Fried Mushrooms, Sautéed Bell Peppers, Fried Jalapeños, Cherry Peppers, Banana Peppers, Serrano Peppers, Garlic Parmesan, and Authentic Amoroso Rolls.

Do you offer catering services?
The answer is Yes and No. We create cheesesteaks in a commercial kitchen and deliver them to your venue ready to enjoy. We have successfully prepared and delivered many cheesesteaks HOT! Contact us to discuss your catering needs.
What is a cheesesteak?
This legendary sandwich is made from thinly sliced ribeye steak. The grilled steak is placed on an authentic Amoroso's Hearth Baked Roll and is traditionally topped with melted American, Cheez Whiz, or Provolone cheese.
Another popular variation of a Philadelphia cheesesteak consists of caramelized onions, bell peppers, and fried mushrooms. In our "pepper department," we offer fresh jalapeños, habaneros, serrano peppers, sweet peppers, roasted garlic, and banana peppers, which are all excellent cheesesteak options, especially if you’re looking for that extra kick!
